What is The Idea Factory?
The Idea Factory is a place for interaction and exchange. It is part social experiment and part member’s-only club. After initially existing only in Trent Miller’s brain in recent months it has seeped out into multiple other physical spaces.
The Idea Factory is always accepting applications for new members. Anyone can join. Membership is not limited by age or location. Perks include a hand-printed Idea Factory card, access to special art and gatherings, as well as an opportunity to participate in an upcoming Idea Factory members’ art exhibition.
How To Join The Idea Factory
1 - Obtain an official Idea Factory paper application. If you do not have an application you can find out more about obtaining an application at THIS LINK.
2 - Once you have an official Idea Factory application you need to select a writing utensil to fill out your application. Preferred writing utensils include the official idea factory pencil, a Bic 4-color pen (The David Dunlap), or a medium point Paper Mate flair pen (The Lynda Barry). While these are the preferred utensils any writing utensils are acceptable.
3- Fill out the back of the application with your name and email address. There is also a Guilt Free Zone, and you can do whatever you need to do in that space.
4 - Fill out the front of The Idea Factory Application. There is no wrong way to fill out the application.
5 - Upon completion of the application put it in a mailing envelope and send it to The Idea Factory, 5101 Golden Leaf Trail, Madison, WI, 53704. Please make sure to also include your physical mailing address in the envelope. If you would like to be reimbursed for postage please make a note of this.
6 - Once your applications arrives at The Idea Factory it will be reviewed by someone in our applications department. If your application is accepted you will receive your official membership card and welcome packet in the mail when the time is right. At this point, we have a 100% acceptance rate.
