FRONT
Here are the four options for the front of your piece. For pieces with backing matboard the drawing is attached to the matboard with a strong acid-free artist tape. If you are planning to frame the piece or want maximum flexibility with how to display it then option 1 is the way to go. In option 2 the matboard is smaller than the piece so it adds some thickness but is not visible on the front. All matboard has a small angled bevel that is shown in the photos, you can click on an image to see it larger.
BACK
If you choose no backing matboard then there is nothing more to decide, If you choose backing matboard on the piece then there are three options for you to choose from. Option one is best if you want to lean the piece up on a shelf, desk, etc. Options 2/3 are best if you want to attach the piece to a wall.
(Backing matboard can easily be added later, but once the drawing is on the matboard it’s difficult to remove. Magnets are easy to add or remove at any time.)
