Im an artist who dislikes the word artist - lay that out - for clarity here I will us the word visual art/ visual artist but i prefer to just say I create objects and expereinces. My great joy in life and skill is connection, connectiong people to other people and connecting people to objects and expereinces that I feel could help them to see the world in new ways

I’m Trent - lowly squire looking to become a knight (glittering deeds and glowing scholarship, not an academic this sight may feel more like it was made by Dud than by Blaise but there are tunnels that lead to some next level scholarship available here. I like things that tickle my brain, that keep me thinking and that are generous giving me more the more I give to them. Ive have loved and still love many things during my life. Humans have created magical things that help us to see and question. I always come back to Leonard Cohen when

I prefer to creat my own things as opposed to spending large amounts of time on things that other people have made. I’m more of a creator myself as opposed to a superfan or an archivist but with Lodge 49 there was this internal itch that I needed to keep going, to dig deeper that there were important things to uncover for my own life and my own creations if I did this. and as I dug deeper I found myself collecting links and photos and video clips, and I found amazing and beautiful things that Lodge 49 pointed to out in the world. More connections were made not just about the show but about my own life and my connections to other people. At some point it felt like to much magic to keep to myself and I decided I should pull this together for other knights on their own quests to help them along the way.

To make my art

when i find a thread I just keep pulling and ive discovered that this thread is 49 miles long so I just keep pulling. I love waking up every day, the world is full of magic, even when things are hard I come back to that. I cant believe we all have to die in the end, hopefully there are more adventures in that place where all circles vanish “some days all of the beautiful things in my life break my heart”

-Love to meet other Lynx in person or on a call, maybe Lodge-con can happen someday!

-Idea Factory show

-food and beverage pairings for each episode

I did an exhibition/social experiment that had deep connections to lodge 49, This was not a show about Lodge 49, but a continuation into the physical world. You can learn more here and even join the idea factory (pay attention to the vanishing circles)

people say whacky, kooky, offbeat, etc. which is fine you can watch it that way as “a good hang” but if you want to go deeper you can..I think because of its laid back nature many people miss this, or they are on to the next thing, but like a great novel, painting, etc there is so much more there if you look beneeth the surface.

Ive had many loves (Susan O’Malley, Cohen, emery blagdon, amos paul kennedy, thomas kong

multiple obsessions over my 49 years on the planet (age when writing this) Phish, Tarkovsky, Twin Peaks ….all of these things made me think about life in new ways and at different times I’ve gone down deeeeeep rabbit holes online that helped me to make connections that brought me joy and even more questions. I’m thankful to all of the people who created websites, wrote articles, archived things, etc on things that I have loved, that have helped me to make deeper connections. That’s why I made this website, there is so much love and care in Lodge 49 and to this point I haven’t found a singular place online that opens up all the portals to the amazing people who have considered and connected different parts of Lodge 49. Hopefully this site brings some joy to you and helps you to dig deeper and ultimately see the world around you with new eyes.

artist (word again) who works at a library work at a library after all - part archive and part art project.

work at a library but im not an archivist

I’m not an expert on alchemy, fraternal organizations, late-stage capitalism, etc.

not a superfan, more of a seeker and this has helped me on my journey.

I make things myself, some would describe what I make as art, I find that word tricky and prefer to just say create things. I see as much beauty in a beautifully played basketball game as I see in a great novel. I do make physical objects but my biggest passion is connecting with people and helping people to see the world in new ways. this website a project in my practice, It is an active and even interactive piece as opposed to simply an archive.

I feel it’s worth the 192.36 (squarespace and sdfdsfds fees) a year to do this…if you want to pitch in you can do that here. If you want to drop me a line you can do that here

tried to make it like less of an archive Secret library) and more of like The Lodge is coming alive. Keep pulling some books on the walls, you never know what might happen.

constantly in flux new things added,

I think by its fun and funny nature people have not seen the genius of the show, they rush to compare it to other things they have seen and only with new eyes can they see what it is. The only thing I can think that comes close on TV is Twin Peaks. These are also very different, a lot more surreal in twin peaks,, that would be a great essay to compare and contrast the two. Lodge comes more out of xxxxx and TP more out of XXX but both are worth extended viewing and the more you figure out the more questions arrise. I’m also not big on direct symbolism this equals this, i think often there are many layers and levels, sometimes fire is just fire its not a symbol for society burning down (Tarkovsky quote). Great art has openness so that these symbols can exist to connect thigns to other things but its much more open than that, much more fluid and expansive that it can connect to multiple layers.

But what’s beautiful about Twin Peaks, what makes it “hold up,” is that it both allows for and resists both of the above readings. Any time you think you have the series pinned down, it slips away from you. It doesn’t want to be explained so much as it wants to be experienced. Lynch often talks about how much he likes to disappear into the world of Twin Peaks, and that feeling is conveyed, beautifully, to the audience. If you can’t lose yourself in it, you’re not quite watching it right.

In rewatching it for this article, I (Emily) kept finding myself sucked in by its rhythms all over again, even in episodes I knew weren’t that great. Is it imperfect and occasionally difficult to sit through? Sure. But that only made the series more impressive to me, on the whole.
