Exhibition Descriptions:

Trent Miller: Spindrift and Tether: Trent Miller’s confident, energetic paintings are non-objective, yet hint at a hidden narrative. His canvases are dominated by large constructions that suggest towers, sailing ships, or cages, painted in strong, vivid colors with powerful brushstrokes. This exhibition will also include a series of Miller’s representational charcoal drawings, which depict enigmatic fairy tales drawn from life events, news stories, and imagined archetypes. Like his paintings, Miller’s drawings suggest mysteries or codes to be explored and deciphered. As Miller says, “I am most interested in an artwork where the viewer is given space to dream and where things don’t necessarily add up.” Miller grew up in Indiana and earned his M.F.A. at Boston University before settling in Madison, WI.
